By 2028, HDN aims to significantly increase socio-economic inclusion for more than 10,000 persons with disabilities across Hirshabelle, through targeted programs, advocacy wins, and stronger local institutions.
Inclusive Aid When It Matters Most
In times of crisis, persons with disabilities are often the first left behind. Whether during conflict, drought, or displacement, barriers to shelter, food, and safety put lives at risk. HDN ensures that humanitarian responses in Somalia are inclusive, accessible, and responsive to the needs of persons with disabilities.
We develop community preparedness plans, distribute accessible dignity kits, and create safe spaces with appropriate WASH facilities. Our psychosocial support programs address trauma while restoring resilience. By integrating disability inclusion into emergency planning, we ensure that in times of need, no one is invisible and no one is excluded.
